The midlevelpractitioner team focuses on restoring health and function andproviding comfort and dignity through the continuum of care in theNICU. The team includes a Neonatologist, Midlevel Practitioner(hospitalist or NNP or Physician Assistant), Pharmacist, CaseManager, Social Worker, and other disciplines that help to achieveexcellence in care. The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is responsiblefor the direct care and treatment of neonatal patients, leading andperforming patient evaluations, treatments, and performance ofspecialized technical procedures. Serves as a subject matter expertand clinical resource to both staff and physicians, facilitatinghealth education of family members, referrals to other disciplines,and consultation with colleagues and other allied healthpersonnel.
