In line with the Worley global strategy, we have since adopted the term Supply Chain Management to encompass a range of specialist commercial services consisting of five key disciplines – purchasing, contract management, expediting, logistics/transportation and materials management.

We are seeking a capable and resourceful Subcontracts Manager to join our Supply Chain Management team to work on projects across New Zealand.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development and implementation of contracting strategy.
  • Monitoring compliance to policies and procedures.
  • Providing support to the Supply Chain Manager on updates to the subcontracting strategy and assignment schedule.
  • Representing Supply chain Management at package and contract reviews.
  • Developing project contract operating procedures, forms, and templates for review, and inclusion into the project contract procedures.
  • Performing all activities in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to continual improvement.
  • Communicating with the client, third party contractors, suppliers etc to form packages.
  • Preparing bid request packages, addenda, and other bid cycle correspondence to ensure content and project requirements are met.
  • Reviewing bid tabulations, bidder recommendations and commercial reviews. Leading negotiations for contracts.
  • Administering the contract in accordance with the terms and conditions, including management of and processing variations, payment, claims, etc.
  • Reporting to management regarding cost and schedule impacts of packages on the overall project budget and schedule.
  • Liaison with the wider project team to identify and manage commercial risks.
  • Support the preparation, review and response to contractual correspondence.
  • Maintain all necessary registers, contractual documentation and templates.

About you:

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline (Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Engineering) or equivalent relevant experience including supervisory, project management and/or technical experience.
  • Experience in the procurement of services from issuing of enquiries through to bid evaluation, chairing of clarification meetings, post award negotiation, post award change management and regular performance review.
  • Experience in negotiating and executing Contracts with Subcontractors for services.
  • Experience in managing and administering FIDIC, NZS:3910/3916, NEC 3/4, or equivalent forms of contract.
  • Understand commercial aspects of construction contracts and identifying areas of risk.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
