Duties & Responsibilities: Assist the Director and Faculty Advisors in the development and daily operations of the College of Pharmacy Pre-Pharmacy Program. Provide individualized advising, mentoring and guidance to students pursuing admittance into the UHH College of Pharmacy. Assist the Director and Faculty Advisors in maintaining an active recruitment program for disseminating information regarding the Pre-Pharmacy Program to University, Community College, high school or elementary school students. Assist the Director and Faculty Advisors in maintaining the Program to serve as a bridge or contact point between local pharmacists, research labs and UHH pre-pharmacy students to promote interaction, internships and potential employment. Assist the Director in maintaining the statewide Pre-Pharmacy Program, and to continue to extend course transfer assistance, mentoring and advising services to university and community college campuses throughout the US affiliated Pacific region. Assist the Director and Faculty Advisors in advising pre-pharmacy students through providing efficient and accurate email/verbal responses to questions and concerns. Individual concerns in questions will be forwarded to the Director or Faculty Advisors. Assist the Director and Faculty Advisors in the continued implementation of the Pre-Pharmacy Orientation Course to be offered at least once/year. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a baccalaureate degree in any field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for N/A; or equivalent education/training or experience. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in health science disciplines demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with science education. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the interaction with students. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software. Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.

Desirable Qualifications: Functional knowledge and understanding of the rules and regulations associated with UH system-wide science course transfer equivalents. Minimum of one year experience in student advising. Familiarity working with the University and Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii systems and budget processes.

Pay range: PBA, $2,904/month minimum.
