This position is a full-time temporary position not to exceed 1 Year. Temp appts may be extended up to 2 yrs at the discretion of managementt and in accordance with applicable regulations.

This announcement is being used to recruit qualified individuals, under the Office of! This position is located in the Pharmacy Department, Naval Health Clnic, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The Clinic is an ambulatory care clinic. The work involves professional practice in the fields of drug distribution and clinical pharmacy. Although the position is primarily located at Branch Medical Clinic, Makalapa, the selectee may be requested to provide patient care activities and administrative functions at any of the other Branch Medical Clinics or their anexes, if needed.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.
Accredited BS degree and/or PharmD degree
Full, current and unrestricted! license to practice pharmacy
This position is a drug-testing designated position (TDP).

You must obtain and maintain a security clearance. DUTIES:
Effective processing of medication orders by using computerized order entry and extraction of pertinent drug data from patient chart and/or through patient interview.

Identification and effective resolution of medication order problems to include, but not limited to accuracy, inappropriate doses, significant medication interactions and allergies.

Communicates with both military treatment facility and community providers concerning generic and therapeutic substitution of medications.

Adherance to essential policies and procedures, including those relating to proper use of medications and the formulary.

Proper handling of carcinogenic, mutagenic and teratogenic medications following established guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

All applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Degree: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD degree recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

2. Licensure: Your resume must indicate you possess a full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. Make sure your resume reflects the state that awarded your license and the date (be prepared to provide a photocopy of your license upon request).

3. Experience: Applicants must have one or more yea! rs of experience working as a professional pharmacist performing progressively responsible duties or equivalent education to be minimally qualified for this position (only applies if applicant does not have PharmD Degee). Examples of this experience include the following: Independently carrying out pharmacy functions, including formulating, preparing, compounding, bulk compounding, selecting, dispensing and preserving drugs, medicines, and chemicals; counseling patients regarding appropriate use of medications; monitoring and advising on drug therapy and use; and designing and conducting education programs for pharmacy technicians and other health care professionals.

Substitution of Education: Successful completion of a 6-year course of study leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
