The Data Analytics Specialist I is responsible for activities related to rapid data visualization development, query development, and data analysis in support of business processes and data-driven decision-making. The Data Analytics Specialist role supports improved data models to help all levels at BAL manage performance more efficiently and effectively. The individual in this role will make an immediate impact on the Transformation Office's ability to deploy updated Business Management Dashboards to various stakeholders at the firm.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Rapidly plan, develop, test, and deliver reports in response to internal requests.
- Communicate complex data visualizations and analyses in a clear and precise manner to others.
- Identify and call out data trends and/or need for additional data (data collection, data in systems, time studies, process mapping, error-proofing, etc.)
- Identify and recommend new metrics needed to support system enhancements and product development.
- Prepare data dashboards and summaries using Power BI for consumption by non-technical stakeholders throughout the firm.
- Deploy statistical models in analyzing data.
- Apply statistical analysis methodologies to analyze and quantify significance, process sigma, and capability.
- Develop descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models using programming languages such as SQL and Python.
- Standardize analysis procedures to ensure consistency.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and project managers to support data-driven decision-making processes.
- Identify additional metrics that can be standardized across the firm, i.e., upper and lower control limits for various processes and activities within systems and processes.
- Collaborate with Reporting Analysts in other areas of the firm to ensure products released are consistent with the look and feel of current data analysis outputs.
- Analyze and validate data to ensure accuracy and validity of critical business information.
- Document reports and implement business intelligence framework to accelerate future report building.
- Maintain accurate knowledge of intracompany systems to assist legal and operations teams in accessing information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of required experience in report development and data analysis, using SQL and Python.
- 2 to 3 years of required experience using Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or other business intelligence tools.
- Experience using Databricks or Azure Data Factory, highly preferred.

- Ability to understand business needs and recommend or identify relevant metrics.
- Ability to manipulate, manage, and perform ongoing analysis with a large volume of data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, Python, and Power BI.
- Experience in building and developing reports to support initiatives and data-driven decision-making in a professional services industry, preferably Human Resources or Immigration, preferred.
- Ability to prepare data dashboards and summaries using Power BI for consumption by non-technical stakeholders.
