Overview

As the Payment Operations Analyst you’ll support day-to-day payment operations in English and (if possible for you) Spanish, ensuring proper internal controls. As a payment process authority, you will help us to ensure the success of critical operational functions including transaction confirmation and reconciliation. We collaborate regularly with multiple SITA departments in cross functional initiatives providing you with continuous opportunities for personal development and growth.

Reporting to the Manager Finance System & Processes, you will be a part of the Cash Disbursement Team responsible for payments to supplier, tax payments and salary related payments in multiple countries. Closely cooperate with the invoice processing team, masterdata team, Gl team, banking partners and Treasury team in process improvements, and payment automatization.

What you will do

  • Serve as payment subject matter expert and liaison between banks and the business
  • Troubleshoot payment channel issues as they occur
  • Perform payment related activities according to defined KPIs
  • Review, monitor payment proposals and amend them based on proper analysis of payables
  • Monitor critical payments in accordance to country specifics
  • Analyze and provide information in area of payments or any other documents requested
  • Register payment activities to ensure proper documentation
  • Ensure appropriate back-up of critical payment processes and providers
  • Oversee payment operations to ensure business delivery requirements are met
  • Relationship management and resolution of supplier queries
  • Conduct new payment vendor analysis and recommendations to support new business development
  • Identify improvements that drive effectiveness and efficiencies for the finance function provide proposal to management an estimated business case for implementation
  • Provide on-going process and system support to the finance community manage operational issues;
  • Gather end- user requirements and translate these business requirements into system requirements;
  • Support automation payment activities through maintenance and optimization of automatic payment processes
  • Identify links between different parts of the payments process and build structured and accurate working schemes to decrease financial risks and proactively identify payout and clearing issues
  • Implement and follow-up on proposed solutions to ensure stabilization of the process and to minimize the risk of recurrence
  • Analyze sophisticated payment or billing issues and optimally solve problems, identify risks and mitigate issues.
  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate across internal and external teams to address and resolve payment operational challenges.

Qualifications

Who you are

  • Ideally 2-3 years of experience within financial operations or Payments Industry; preferably within a large international company with a matrix business structure
  • Fluent in English. Fluent in Spanish is an advantage.
  • Minimum 1 year PQE with knowledge working in a project environment with a proven track record managing one or more medium to large projects
  • Self-motivated, efficient, independent and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible teammate with the ability to work across multiple offices and time zones in a very diverse setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to successfully collaborate with others.
  • A process-oriented mindset to think critically in a fast-paced environment with a driven attitude to improving standards
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and use good judgment to establish order or priorities on the fly
  • Established ability to independently organize, analyze and interpret information to explain problems, irregularities or trends
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Good command of English language
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP or JDE etc.)
  • University degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
  • An accounting or finance qualification preferred.
