To manage all operation assets within Red Sea project of renewable power generation assets, substations, power transmission, distribution and RO Plants and its network. Operation of power system protection for generation, transmission, distribution assets including, review design criteria of the Red Sea project, perform safety review, operational cost analysis, operation strategy and ensure operation readiness of the full facilities and benchmarking, techno-commercial optimization, project risk mitigation and internal stakeholder alignment meeting the requirements of the respective NOMAC policy and procedures and operations all power and water facilities.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategy& Plans
- Contribute to the development of the functional strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departments.
- Lead operational activities of department in high reliable and most efficient best practice, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc. as required, to keep them informed and updated on the department’s activities.
- Monitor and Execute project as per Projects Execution Strategy.
People Management: Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing the teams and providing formal and informal feedback to maximize overall performance, engagement and motivation.
Budget Management: Lead the preparation of the O&M budget, manage and monitor the technical and financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
Job Management:
- Understand the detailed scope of work & owner technical specifications, keeping in mind the best interest from operation and maintenance perspective.
- During the design phase, review engineering deliverables, dynamic stability studies and OEM/equipment specifications with a focus on power & water systems stability and control.
- During the execution phase, participate to power system testing and commissioning and ensure that satisfactory testing and tuning is performed before acceptance.
- During the operation phase, be responsible for power & Water systems operation and ensuring safe, reliable supply during all operation conditions (OR alternatively act as SME for power system operation) Prepare a strategy for safe take-over of the plant assets.
- Participate in Single-Point-of-Failure and Reliability, Availability and Maintainability reviews.
- Support the team to Prepare Initial Spares Parts Lists including Strategic and Operational Spares.
- Support the team Prepare long term service agreements with maintenance service providers and participate in contract negotiation.
- Lead the team to develop and review technical documents related to protection philosophies at the generation, transmission, and distribution levels.
- Assist with the further development and implementation of procedures and guidelines for the creation of NOMAC’s Technical Standards and Codes approvals authority.
- Good understanding and interpretation of the regulatory requirements and business plans
- Able to develop initial budgeting and cost benchmarking against similar sized and similar technology projects.
- Should be able to optimize variable operation cost components.
- Must possess in depth knowledge of operations and renewable generation of PV and BESS , to estimate various operational cost elements i.e. staffing, spares & consumables, life cycle costs, mid-term CAPEX etc.
- Lead project operation teams in the development of functional description, start-up and commissioning activities, standard operation procedures (SOPs), operational process control strategies, maintenance work procedures, performance compliance reporting and operational trouble shooting.
- Lead the development of technical, commercial and financial bids based on the documentation, inputs and feedback received from various stakeholders, to ensure alignment with the requirements while adhering to quality standards.
- Liaise with Operation teams to plan and conduct asset condition assessment surveys, site inspections, network leak detection programs and performance monitoring, network repair/upgrade, effluent quality monitoring and analysis programs,
- Oversee the liaison with various internal stakeholders such as Finance, Legal, HSSE teams etc. for inputs, assumptions, suggestions, lessons learned and feedback and compilation of all requisite documentation, agreements and internal approvals and other related activities, in order to ensure that the data and relevant documentation is accurate.
- Participate in the meetings with the internal senior management highlighting the key risks, opportunities, recommended equipment partners and contractors, risk mitigation strategies, cost-benefit analyses etc., to ensure all the key elements are raised and discussed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Participate in the negotiations with providing relevant inputs and expertise, explaining the risks, assumptions, cost modelling to them, in order to serve the best interests of the company.
- Attend meetings at various locations (in different countries) on a short notice to participate in the O&M or project related discussions.
- Act as a coach for the experts involved and contribute technically to the execution of these projects.
