SkySpecs launched the world’s first completely autonomous blade inspection product in 2016 with a custom-designed drone system. Since then, SkySpecs has inspected over 160,000 wind turbines in over 31 countries, becoming the world leader in understanding the health of turbine blades. Identifying issues with turbine blades is only the first step. In 2019, SkySpecs launched Horizon to be a platform for SkySpecs to offer a multi-layered solution for customers that includes: data collection, wind turbine blade engineering expertise, and a place for all stakeholders to collaborate to manage and analyze massive amounts of data, spot trends, and create plans for high-cost repair campaigns. In 2021, SkySpecs acquired two companies specializing in wind turbine drivetrain monitoring and financial management, further expanding our asset management portfolio. With the latest acquisition of i4SEE, an exciting young company specialised in predictive analytics based on SCADA data, SkySpecs expanded its offerings, and ultimately, this will help reduce the cost and risk of operations for the industry.

As a Junior Data Scientist, you will:
Join our international team of software engineers, data scientists and domain specialists. i4SEE, a 100% daughter company of SkySpecs, is an exciting young company specialised in predictive analytics in the field of renewable energy. Our team members are located around Europe and worldwide, and we use a unique distributed model allowing everybody to work wherever they prefer, and with a high level of flexibility. We offer market compliant salaries starting from 37.954€ yearly gross salary based on a full-time contract (38,5h/week) (Jahresbruttogehalt) with the availability for overpayments based on prior job and work experience.
Requirements of the job:
- Proficient in Python programming language
- Proficient with data manipulation and analysis using Pandas library
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fluent English language
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related discipline)
Bonus points for:
- Basic knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques
- Data visualization skills using tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly
- Experience working with large datasets and handling missing or inconsistent data
- Familiarity with data pre-processing and feature engineering techniques
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of wind turbine technology and operations
