- Monitors, supervises, and directs subordinate staff to ensure the proper security, safety, and control of all inmates at community hospital to include but not limited to Chester, MUSC, Lancaster MUSC, And PRISMA if necessary.
- Ensure assigned security staff (SCDC and Allied) are trained in the sue of firearms and equipment and correct any deficiencies aa necessary.
- Constructs employee work schedule, to Include leave and training, for all assigned security staff to ensure proper security staffing for inmate supervision as per SCDC and community hospital policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate security staff is on duty at all times.
- Conducts security, safety, and sanitation inspections of all community hospital buildings, grounds, and SCDC vehicles and corrects or reports any deficiencies.
- Evaluates Lieutenant's duty performance; instructs and counsels in required duty performance standards.
- Prepares and submits EPMS as required.
- Prepare and submit written operational and administrative reports when necessary and/or requested.
- Arbitrate disputes among inmates and correctional staff.
- Investigate complainants and violations with written documentation.
- Conduct weekly inventories and inspections of all weapons, restraints, security equipment, and keys to ensure proper functions and accountability.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and supervisory experience in correctional, security or police work. A bachelor's degree in a human service.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the division of State human resources).
Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
